1. Can I get Strijd
der Planeten anywhere?
Yes, nowadays you can! In 2001 Strijd
der Planeten episodes have been found. A fan does make copies for other fans. Please me if you are interested and I'll give you his e-mail address.
You don't have to try the Nederlands
Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid (before Nederlands Audiovisueel Archief,
that means Dutch Audiovisual Archive); that has been asked and the answer is
'no'. AVRO Television has nothing left of the series anymore, so contacting
them is not worth trying.
2. Can I buy Battle
of the Planets on DVD? 3. Can I buy Gatchaman on DVD? 4. What DVD region
are we in? 5. Will the
Dutch episodes be released on DVD too? 6. Can I
still find the Televizier scrapbook of Strijd der Planeten?
7. How do I
get separate pictures of that album?
8. I am going to start
a Strijd der Planeten/Battle of the planets mailing list / club / back-at-tv-action.

Yes, you can.
Check the Universal
site for more information. You can buy these DVDs at Send it
or the Dutch store Sorry! No
Subtitles.
Rhino
releases BotP DVDs (region 1) in the United States. The first
DVDs have subtitled (!) Gatchaman episodes and
a G-Force episode as bonus material.
You can buy the DVDs at the American department of Amazon.
That is also possible. ADV Films is releasing the series on DVD both subbed and dubbed. For these first 12 eps you can choose from 2 boxes with 6 eps each (Collectors Edition 1 en 2) or a Collectors Editions Box Set with all 12 episodes and a bonus disc. You can buy them at the American web store Amazon or the Belgian webstore Archonia.
Europe and Japan are region 2, the
United States is region 1.
That seems very unlikely to me. Not
many people in the Netherlands remember the series. That has to do with an unregular
broadcasting scheme and the fact that only 26 Dutch language episodes were produced.
Battle of the Planets has 85 (!) episodes. I think it will also be hard to track
down the original tapes because nobody seems to know where they are these days.
AVRO Television gave a little bit of hope by telling one of the fans the Dutch
language tapes have been sent to the Japanese studios. So to the DVD company
that wants to bring *Strijd* back to us: please try the Tatsunoko
Production Company.
It's possible. You could try to find one at Boekbeeld.
Please check the Strijd der Planeten merchandise page
if you want to know how you can find it at this site. The Dutch version of Ebay or Martkplaats are other possible options.
Don't pay too much for this album. Please note that you should not pay more
than about 13,60 to 18,15 euro for it.
You could try that at Boekbeeld
as well. At their website they say that they have separate pictures of all kind
of scrapbooks.
Great! The more Strijd der Planeten/Battle of the Planets the better - on line
and off line. But I really don't have time to help with these kind of things -
I like to have a *non-Gatchaman* day every now and then (yes, honestly!). I am
willing to mention your ML/club/action at these pages - maybe that is also a good way to attract fans with more time.
me if you like to talk about that.
